“All fans have things they’d like to see improved in their favorite games and we’ve been listening to our loyal Dead Rising fan base and have been making improvements to Dead Rising 4 that will result in the game being even better than before,” the developer wrote.
To start with, two harder difficulty levels will be introduced to appease fans who felt that the game was too easy compared to previous entries.
As well as adding new difficulty levels, the update will also improve Maniacs with new weapons that suit their character, new Maniac Minions, and improved AI that makes them better at using cover, blocking attacks with shields, and countering players.
Another new addition are Distress Calls, six memorable side missions that will see Frank aiding and protecting a survivor as they try to reach a safe place. Completing these Distress Calls will unlock a unique variation on one of Frank’s outfits as a reward.
Other improvements include improved controller responsiveness, faster attack speed, faster zombie horde awareness, more aggressive pursuit, rebalanced weapon distribution, improved zombie AI, mission tuning, and more.
This update will go live on all platforms December 5th, the same day that Dead Rising 4: Frank’s Big Package arrives on PlayStation 4.
