DOOM Nintendo Switch Size Revealed, 30 FPS Officially Confirmed

4.4
Bethesda has officially confirmed what we already pretty much knew. DOOM on the Nintendo Switch is going to run at 30 fps. The thing that made DOOM feel great to play on consoles and PC, though, wasn't necessarily its 60 fps gameplay (though that was nice); it was the consistency of that frame rate that made the action feel so tight. In a statement to Glixel, Bethesda states that we can expect that same consistent performance on Nintendo Switch.

"The game and rendering technology underlying Doom is extremely scalable. In bringing Doom to Switch, we targeted outstanding visuals at a solid 30 fps and by maintaining a consistent 30 fps, the experience remains consistently fluid and smooth. We’ve been thrilled with the feedback that Doom is among the very best looking and performing games on Switch."

We've seen several gameplay videos pop up on YouTube from a variety of outlets, and though we could only see off-footage gameplay running in handheld mode, the game did look impressive. There's little doubt that when DOOM launches on the Switch, it will be one of the best-looking games on the system.

But what about storage? On consoles and PC, DOOM can take up close to 100GB of space, and space on the Nintendo Switch is a very precious thing. No worries! With no Snap Map, and multiplayer relegated to a separate download, the entire DOOM experience fits on a single cartridge. The single player campaign and arcade mode will fit onto a 16GB cartridge, while the multiplayer mode will be a separate 9GB download that players can choose to install, or not. DOOM wasn't exactly praised for its multiplayer mode (though I found it fast and fun), so you won't be missing out on much.

And with that, our hype is official. DOOM looks like it runs miraculously well considering the hardware, and knowing that we won't have to fill up our microSD cards with a bloated download is the icing on top of this delicious DOOM-cake.

-Silky I'm guessing most people who use the switch buy additional storage.

Yeah i was looking into it a little its MicroSD card.. personally i hope the find a better solution for storage.

It's pretty stupid to force users to buy additional storage.

Storage is a big problem on a lot of things you just gotta put up with it i guess lol. This game should be great on the switch tho.

Damn... i wonder how much the game is affected on switch as its crushed down to 16GB, I can understand why it will only be 30FPS as the switch hasn't that much power.
