Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter has said that the upcoming Call of Duty WW2 is set to become the best-selling entry in the franchise to date.

Speaking on episode 108 of The 1099 podcast, Pachter was quizzed how the series’ move back to World War II will impact upon sales of the upcoming first-person shooter.

“I think it will be the best-selling Call of Duty to date, how’s that?” said Pachter.

“Now again, who knows. Let’s say it comes out and it gets a 72 Metacritic, then clearly i’m wrong. If it gets an 88 or higher, I actually think it could be the best-selling one ever. And the good news about the Sledgehammer team is they’re pretty competent. They’re pretty competent, and this game, for some reason, who knows, it looks special to me. It looks like they just got it right.”

Pachter went on to say that he hasn’t heard much feedback from the Call of Duty WW2 beta, but reiterated that Sledgehammer are a top-notch team and feels they will deliver a fantastic title.

We previously reported that Pachter has said that he expects the PS5 release date to drop in the year 2020. This ties in with previous comments by the analyst, who said back in January that Sony will launch a new home console in the next two-three years.

Call of Duty WW2 is pencilled for a worldwide release on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One on November 3, 2017. The game is the first entry in the multi-million selling franchise to take place during the Second World War since 2008’s Call of Duty: World at War.
