PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds’ new desert map shown off

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds creator Brendan “PlayerUnknown” Greene shared another look at a work in progress version of the game’s upcoming desert map.

Greene previously revealed that two new maps are in development for the game. The first is the desert map above which is smaller at 4x4km, while the second is set on an island in the Adriatic Sea and is 8x8km.

There’s currently no word on when either of these maps will go live, but I’d expect the desert map to be out before the end of the year.

Earlier this month, it was revealed that developer Bluehole would be abandoning the game’s monthly and weekly update schedule to avoid having to rush to meet deadlines. The developer will now push updates live when they are ready, instead of trying to meet the old schedule.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is available now on PC via Steam Early Access and will be coming to Xbox One later this year.
