No plans to bring Destiny 2 to Steam

4.8
Recently, Steam users discovered that they could purchase Silver, the in-game currency used in Destiny, on the platform, which led to the belief that it was a test for Destiny 2 coming to Steam. However, Bungie community manager David “Deej” Dague has since stated that this isn’t the case.

According to Dague, Silver was made available on Steam in error and all purchases made will be refunded. He went on to squash hopes of a Steam release for Destiny 2 by saying that the game is with Blizzard and will not be sold anywhere else.

As announced earlier this year, Destiny 2 will be available on PC exclusively via Blizzard’s Battle.net launcher—now called Blizzard Battle.net following another name change.

Yesterday, Bungie released a new trailer for the upcoming Destiny 2 PC beta that showed the game running at 4K and 60 FPS.

Destiny 2 arrives on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 September 6th, but PC owners will have to wait until October 24th.

Won't be a big deal to me but I don't see why it being added to Steam shouldn't happen, It will boost sales for sure

I've never played the game so it doesn't matter but that seems like a huge marketing mistake. That's a whole lotta money they missing out on.

I play on Xbox, so I'm all good.

Going with blizzard was a bad decision. Blizzard seems more focused on promoting their games over Destiny, which is understandable. The only place you will find any information about Destiny from Blizzard is in their store page. It isn't even listed on their "games" tab. I think sales will see a small hit from this.

Wow that's a big letdown but as long as it's on Xbox I will be fine.

Really sucks, I hate having to use Blizzard for Overwatch and now Destiny 2.
