Xbox One is redesigning its dashboard yet again

4.3
Xbox One Alpha Ring Insiders will see a brand new dashboard when they next turn on their consoles, as Microsoft is rolling out yet another update for Xbox and Windows 10, and this time it’s focused on customization.

The biggest change to the Xbox dashboard is that users will be able to create custom content blocks based on games they like to play, friends they follow, and where they put their pinned games. It’s easy enough to add content blocks—simply select a friend or game and select “Add to Home.” Content blocks for games will continually update with news from developers, which friends are playing the game, or even suggest an achievement you’re close to earning. In other words, Xbox is always watching you.

The update also brings with a focus on the more “social” aspect of Xbox One. The dashboard will look at the games you play and suggest friends based on other players who play that particular game, meaning you could have complete strangers messaging you and asking to be your friend soon because being hassled and stalked by strangers is exactly what every gamer wants in their life.

The Guide is also easier and quicker to navigate, as long as Xbox doesn’t change it again right after you’ve learned how to navigate it like they always do.

The latest update is only available right now for Alpha Ring Insiders, with general availability coming later in the fall. So, if you like the current state of your Xbox One dashboard and don’t want to see it changed, you have a little more time to spend with it before it disappears forever into the shadowy caverns of forgotten memories that is your mind.

They're slowly getting worse lmao just being able to change the colours when it first came out was all the customisation I needed

Pretty happy with the changes they have made to be honest hate the current os layout.

I didn't like it when watching the video, but when I tried it out myself on my console in Alpha, I like it much better than the previous OS. Much faster and smoother in all menus. And better design decisions within menus. Now there isn't lag anywhere, just smoothness.

*Cough https://www.thetechgame.com/Forums/t=7718870/xbox-one-alpha-ring-members-updates-to-home.html Cough* lol. The second one they had was the best IMO. I hate the current one and this one looks horrible aswell! If you needed a quick look at the % of your download, you now have to press more that one button. (I'm lazy, yes) Why can't they just leave alone? xD
