Destiny 2 on PC Will Have Restrictions for Specific Applications

4.4
Bungie has revealed new information for Destiny 2. According to the developer, the PC version of the game will have limitations for particular PC and third-party programs.

In a recent blog post, the developer explained how they would regulate third-party applications. Clarifying that for them to make the game as fair as possible for everyone, they will try to blacklist third-party applications from inputting code into the game client.

Overlays that display frame rates, as well as other performance statistics from programs such as EVGA Precision XOC, MSI Afterburner, and Fraps, will not be compatible at all.

Bungie confirmed that third-party applications that are dependent on overlays would not support Destiny 2 on PC. Although this won’t be an issue for the actual aps, the blog post does state that both Discord and Mumble’s “who’s talking” and visual notification features won’t work.

In regards to gameplay capture software, methods such as Elgato, AVerMedia, and dedicated streaming PCs will be supported in full screen mode, in addition to NVIDIA Shadowplay and AMD ReLive. Unfortunately, OBS and XSplit will not work in full screen. but they will work in windowed mode (and borderless windowed) in both Screen Capture and Window Capture modes; while similar applications like Dxtory and Razer Cortex will have similar limitations.

If you would like more information about the game, be sure to time out of your day to check out our hands-on preview, our impressions on the crucible from the beta, as well as some new gameplay footage. Destiny 2 will launch on September 6th, 2017 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One while the PC version will launch on October 24th.

I'm fine with this, I use OBS and only play my games in borderless so I can switch between my monitors.

Why ? lol such a small thing can it have that much of an effect ??

No it can't. The PC performance is obviously subpar so it must be embarrassing to have it benchmarked. I can already tell the game is going to bomb because of stupid restrictions like this.
