Halo 5 Player Recreates NES Classic Duck Hunt As A Multiplayer Game

4.2
Before Call of Duty, Battlefield, or Halo, there was the first-person shooter that started it all – Duck Hunt. You may chuckle at that, but Duck Hunt really was a groundbreaking game, and is still one of the most recognizable and widely-played shooters of all time. Well, one clever fan has harnessed the power of current-gen shooter Halo 5: Guardians to recreate the old-school fun of Duck Hunt, with an all-new twist.

Created by Halo 5 Forge User Spartan Blood 1, this version of Duck Hunt lets you blast away at a TV featuring a scene very similar to the one in the original NES game, but something’s different. You’re not blasting ducks, you’re shooting tiny Spartans, who are actually controlled by other players. The players in the TV have to stay out of harm’s way by using energy swords to bounce around, while the shooter tries to take them down with a limited amount of ammo. Really, it’s pretty clever.

Oh, and playing as one of the “ducks” actually looks kind of freaky. You’re suddenly tiny, stuck in a giant TV, and trying desperately to dodge the incoming volley of gunfire – is this what we’ve been putting those poor 8-bit ducks through all these years?

Halo 5 forge has led to some really cool custo game creations. Its a shame that people only want to play competitively now.

I haven't played it since it came out but, this is definitely innovative and looks like something to give a try
