Logitech Set To Buy Astro Gaming for an Enormous Amount of Money

4.3
If you’re a fan of either Astro or Logitech products then this may excite you. Today the PC gaming giant Logitech announced that it plans to aquire Astro Gaming for $85 million in cash.

This acquisition represents a whole new step for the Logitech company, as it has primarily focused on the PC gaming market by producing keyboards, mice, and other peripherals, while Astro Gaming is mostly focused on console gaming products. Astro is known for its A40 and A50 headsets.

Logitech G President Ujesh Desai had this to say about the deal:

“ASTRO is the leading player for premium console headsets and is the preferred headset for console esports athletes. It’s a perfect complement to Logitech G’s focus on PC gaming and we couldn’t be more excited; we love the team, the brand and the products. Together, we want to make game play even more fun for gamers everywhere.”
Astro Co-Founder and President Jordan Reiss also released a statement:

“The whole team at ASTRO has always held Logitech and Logitech G products in the highest regard, so I’m ecstatic we are joining forces. ASTRO’s brand strength combined with Logitech G’s unrivaled technology and global distribution network is going to bring our products to even more gamers around the world.”

Logitech says that the deal should be finalized sometime next month, in August of 2017.

Over the past few years, Logitech has been acquiring a number of different tech companies. In 2016 the company purchased Jaybird, a line of fitness-based headphones. Later that year, it announced that it would be acquiring Saitek from its previous owner Mad Catz, which coincidentally earlier this year ended up filing for chapter 7 bankruptcy.

Actually really excited to see what they'll be making now Logitech are involved. I'm still using my A40s from about 4 years ago. Hopefully something amazing comes out for me to upgrade.
