Activision aren't concerned which Call of Duty you play as long as you play

4.2
If it seems Call of Duty players are giving newer installments in the series the cold shoulder, it's because they are. According to NPD rankings, a five-year-old game, Call of Duty Black Ops 2, ended up outselling Infinite Warfare this past April due to its newly-minted status as a backwards compatible Xbox One shooter.

Activision isn't that concerned, however, which game players are flocking to, as longas they're playing a Call of Duty game. According to Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg when speaking to GamesIndustry, the company's policy "has been" that as long as people are playing a Call of Duty game, "we're happy."

Hirshberg explained further: “Call of Duty is less of a persistent platform as it is a persistent ethos. It is a game that makes you feel a certain way, and has certain expectations around core mechanics, tone and manner. I feel there are multiple presentations of that, and we have shown the ability to keep people engaged, sometimes for many years past the initial launch."

So it's likely we'll continue to see new content coming for older entries in the Call of Duty universe as players flock to games released over the span of the last few years rather than mobbing the latest and greatest.

That's bull. That's like a car dealership saying we don't care if u don't buy our new models, just as long as ur driving them... Like what? it sounds like they aren't as driven towards creating better games and are feeling contempt with spewing out the same crap but reskinned each year.. Which they do. I mean yeah they can still make money off in game items, but seriously I've never heard a company say something like this. Probably why I haven't played since the first week ghosts came out, which I returned.

Interesting, they should really learn from what the community wants tbh, they can see the statistics. Supply drops are one thing that people don't want but hey, they bring them back anyway which is why people most likely stick to the older cods, me personally I'll still play the new cod but won't be getting any supply drops, I just hope it lives up to my expectations
