PayPal has beaten Steam to it and announced when the Steam Summer Sale will kick off.

PayPal has become rather reliable source when it comes to Steam sale dates. The payment service announced the summer sale dates last year and the fall and winter sales in 2014 and 2015, respectively.

The Steam Summer Sale starts on June 22 and those in the UK will get £5 off when they spend £20 using their PayPal account. This offer ends on July 4.

We’re checking whether the offer is valid in the US right this minute, but at present, it seems to be UK-only. We’ll check again for you closer to the date.

The Steam Summer Sale officially kicks off at 1pm Eastern and 6pm in the UK on June 22, and will end on July 5 at the exact same times.

The June start date for the Steam Summer Sale was rumored back in May, and it was spot on.

Last year the annual sale dropped flash and daily deals, instead opting for a regular promotion of discounted titles. That worked in its favour, with the 2016 summer sale raking in 50 percent more sales.
