Error Code 002-0102 Hits Tons of Modded 3DS Users

4.3
Hundreds or even thousands of 3DS gamers are finding themselves banned today, loading up their handhelds and receiving error code 002-0102 when trying to access certain features. The bans seem focused around modded and jailbroken 3DS handhelds, though no one in that community has quite figured out the exact cause of the bans.

“Users in multiple countries have been getting error 002-0102, which normally means an internet connectivity problem. However, after contacting Nintendo, multiple users have confirmed that the CS says its a ban. They offer no further information at this time, and can not overturn it. As of now, there is no solid evidence that it is a NNID ban, and most conjecture/circumstance points to a MAC/SN ban. Users that are banned can still enter the eShop and purchase games, and download updates. They can not go online within any game or use their friends list. They also can not use ANY application that requires online connectivity, including Pokémon Bank, YouTube, and Netflix. However, the Web Browser DOES still work.”

Don't really see the point of modding 3ds lmao.

What do you even get when using a jailbroken 3DS?

I don't have any nds's and just came here for the read, but lmao it's messed up that they included blocking Netflix and YouTube in the ban. Unless with a modded 3ds ppl were using Netflix without even paying for it but other than that it's kinda f'd up

I say within a few weeks there will be a way around the bans.
I would be pretty pissed if this happened to me though, but I guess there's always risks when modding / exploiting anything.

Can still play solo but not online.
I remember back when i modded and getting a dreaded ban on xbox. Doubt they'll find a way around it.
