Dead Island 2 is very much alive and kicking says Deep Silver

We haven’t heard a peep about Dead Island 2 for some time now, with the last news being the removal of the game’s Steam page last year, leading to speculation that the title had been cancelled.

Initially in development with Yager for three years and set for a 2015 release, Sumo Digital took over in March 2016.

Eurogamer reached out to Deep Silver for an update, and they replied, “Dead Island 2 is in development at Sumo Digital, and we are excited by the progress the team are making with Deep Silver’s most successful IP.

“When we are ready to share more information, we will.”

I loved Techland’s Dead Island and Dying Light, so we’ll see how Sumo Digital’s sequel compares when it eventually comes out.

Potion I would've preferred them make a sequel to dying light honestly.


Dying light was actually a right off, the developers of dying light wanted dead island to be more serious but didn't want that, so the developers separated and they made a more serious game "dying light"

Mitochondria If the sequel does actually make it out one day, it will take a while before it gets big as the first one and riptide ETC lost some launch hype quickly.

Glock- Oh wow. I thought this game totally was killed. Good to see they are still working on it. I loved the first dead island. A bit buggy but it was still very fun.


I still mess around on the first one every now and then. Modded saves because why not.
