Call Of Duty: WWII Dev Talks Characters, Multiplayer And More

4.4
Call of Duty: WWII has been running like crazy since its reveal last week, with new details and hints giving players a lot to get excited over. Well, add some more fuel to the fire, as a new interview with GamesRadar has provided even more details about the game, namely with characters and multiplayer.

Michael Condrey, co-founder for the developer of the game at Sledgehammer Games, explained how characters will play a vital part within the game. You’ll spend most of it as Red Daniels, but you’ll also be hopping into other shoes for various portions of the game. He didn’t detail when the jumping around would take place, but it’s clear that the team is focusing on getting the experience of World War II from various perspectives.

He also noted, “Yeah. You’ll play as Russo, the French Resistance woman... we want the story to be meaningful and for that, we do want you to stay attached to the characters in a way that gives them time for them to develop and breathe, and so character hopping makes it hard to keep that connection. I that moment where you join with the French Resistance is a really nice moment – but primarily you stay with the squad, primarily you stay with Daniels.”

Sledgehammer is also looking to bring Call of Duty: WWII back to basics with multiplayer, so players won’t have to rely so much on tricks or gimmicks to get ahead. “This arsenal of World War 2 weapons and the signatures of those weapons were really uniquely defined. Obviously we have the classics that people know and love like the SMG44 and the Garand, the rifles, the SMGs like the Thompson or the Grease Gun – but clearly shotguns and LMGs meant things and the battlefields would respond. And so we have some really unique map designs that take advantage of those; they’re very different than what we created on Advanced Warfare, absolutely – and we get to take those from real, iconic locations from around the globe, real battles that happened from D-Day to Aachen, right? There’s so many real varied engagements in World War 2 that really lend itself well to saying 'Hey, these were real battle sites, they were very different in their strategy and we have a real world arsenal of weapons that you will have to manage in order to be successful there.’”

And to further show its devotion to the franchise, Condrey also posted a pair of pics on Twitter today, showcasing how the team was changing focus from its previously released Advanced Warfare to the forthcoming WWII, with the changing of wallpaper within the company’s studio. Needless to say, it looks great. “Before. After. #shgviews,” he simply noted.

IT's got everything I could want.. If they're female chars who cares as long as hit boxes are the same, maybe they're not suppose to be in a WW2 game but we can't really complain

Hollywood_Undead meaningful? by adding a woman to a ww2 game?
No, you just gave in to SJW idiotism.
