PlayStation 4 reaches a new milestone

4.3
Sony has released its results for the end of the fiscal year, revealing that 60 million PlayStation 4 consoles have now been shipped to retailers.

According to the report, the company shipped 20 million units in the most recent fiscal year (April 1st, 2016 to March 31st, 2017), with 2.9 million units being shipped in the fourth and final quarter, which is up from the 2.3 million shipped during the same period last fiscal year.

Sony is aiming to ship 18 million units during the current fiscal year, which would bring the console up to almost 80 million units shipped by March 31st, 2018.

Last month, Sony released update 4.5 for PlayStation 4, adding Boost Mode for PlayStation 4 Pro, support for external hard drives between 250GB and 8TB, improvements for PlayStation VR, and support for voice chat when using Remote Play.
