Black Ops gets a 3D-compatible scope attachment

4.5
Activision unveiled today that Black Ops on PS3 and Xbox 360 will be compatible with 3D-ready HDTVs, and NVIDIA 3D Vision on PCs. All modes of the Cold War FPS will be 3D playable – single, multi, training and even the newly confirmed zombie gameplay. A “simple menu option” will allow gamers to enable stereoscopic 3D at any time.

Mark Lamia, Studio Head of Treyarch disclosed that 3D development “began as an R&D project, but once we saw what the technology brought to the Call of Duty experience, what a great fit and how immersive it was, we knew that we had to develop it for Black Ops.”

As one would expect, Best Buy stated that they’re “thrilled” to partner with Activision since it’ll mean more opportunities to sell some 3D goods while showing off the experience at retail locations.

3D-ready HDTVs, PCs and those fancy glasses sold separately.
