While not quite the numbers that Pokemon GO saw when it first launched, it has incentivized Nintendo to explore other mobile versions for its classic properties.
Fire Emblem Heroes, for instance, allows players to experience the classic battle system while summoning a variety of heroes from across the franchise. With $5 million revenue in just one week, Fire Emblem Heroes has proven that “experimenting with different types of monetization” as per company president Tatsumi Kimishima is working out fairly well.
