Nintendo Switch Walmart Pre-Orders Available for $399 – Report

4.5
Previous estimates for Nintendo’s Switch console put the price at $250 or even lower, indicating a somewhat conservative pricing for what’s thought to be a less powerful competitor to the Xbox One and PS4.

However, according to a Reddit user, the US retailer Walmart is holding pre-orders for the Switch at $399. It’s worth noting that though the Redditor claims to work at Walmart, there’s a high probability of the image being fake, especially considering how high the pricing is.

Some speculate that Nintendo could unveil different SKUs for the Switch with different prices. That being said, it’s still hard to imagine one that could cost so much unless it had a ton of accessories, a large HDD and a game bundled with it.

Nintendo will be holding a presentation for Switch on January 13th so we’ll learn more about the platform’s price, launch line-up and hopefully more later this week. How much do you think the Switch could cost? Let us know below.

Yea as much as I'm looking forward to the Switch $400 is a bit much imo, so I will wait til the price drops.

That's really expensive for a console.

Nah, that price is just lost in space. Rather pay for a Scorpio!

I was really looking forward for this, but not for 400 dollars, maybe 250.

I'm really disappointed.

If this turns out to be true this is a huge mistake for Nintendo. With the last two consoles they produced, their track record with consumers is not that great. Yes they have a very loyal fan base and it will sell. If they want to attract more people to return Nintendo, to give the new system a chance, they will need to lower the price. I was very interested in this console but if this is the price I will not be purchasing. I would be willing to pay half that possibly, but as of right now I have zero interest in this system. I hope this is false and would love to own one. I'm not about to go spend that amount of money on a Nintendo when my Wii U is collecting dust in a closet somewhere.

Also, good job on the article, easy to read.
