You can now download Assassin's Creed III for free on UPlay

4.5
For the past seven months, Ubisoft has been offering one game for free each month in celebration of its 30th anniversary - dubbed the "Ubi 30". Since the promotion kicked off, the publisher has allowed users to download six games for free, namely Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell, Rayman Origins, The Crew, Beyond Good and Evil, and Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon.

This month, Ubisoft is offering the last game in its popular promotion, which is Assassin's Creed III.

Assassin's Creed III was released in 2012 and follows the story of the series' protagonist Desmond Miles, picking up immediately after the events of Assassin's Creed: Revelations. It follows a third-person open world format similar to the other games in the popular series and is succeeded by Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag.

The title was received favorably by gamers and critics alike, who praised it for the visuals, narrative, combat, hunting mechanics and naval missions - that also became an integral part of Black Flag. Assassin's Creed III currently boasts a 7/10 rating on Steam as well.

It is important to note that the title requires a UPlay client to download, and is not DRM-free. However, if you add it to your account, it will be yours to keep even after the promotion expires.
