Halo Wars 2 Will Have a Mode that Is “a New Way to Play a RTS”

During a stage event at PAX West, 343 Industries Studio Head Dan Ayoub delivered a tease on a new mode for Halo 2 that appears to be something that RTS players haven’t tried before, and that is supposed to be played in quick sessions.

Ayoub did not reveal any further details on the mode in question. We’ll have to wait for more information, while the game will be released for Xbox One and Windows 10 on February 21st, 2017, with an open beta coming at the beginning of next year.

“One of the modes, which I can only tease for the time being, is actually a completely new way to play a RTS. It really takes standard RTS gameplay and turns it on its head. And that’s a mode that can be played in a shorter time frame as well, like five, six, seven minutes.”

Beta bored me so i wont be buying this game. Hopefully xbox bring it out as a free game in the games with gold further down the line like they did with spartan ops.

Xaldin hW1 was really good, I hope HW2 ends up being good as well. I didn't enjoy the beta very much but they already announced that they are making pretty significant changes.


Yeah they better make some changes, haha, the beta was not that fun.


Agreed the beta for me was boring and repetitive after a while.

I'm not a Halo Wars 2 player or fan of the game but the RTs sounds fun.
