Earlier this year, Microsoft offered a public invitation for other consoles to them in cross-play. Sony's initial comment wasn't really a response and neither was their second comment on the invitation. Basically, Sony didn't offer much of anything on whether or not they would be down for cross-platform play with Microsoft.

Bandai Namco, on the other hand, is interested in cross-play A fan asked Tekken 7’s game designer, Michael Murray, on Twitter if the game will have cross-play between console players. He said: “Please ask Sony. MS already publicly said they’re interested in cross platform“.

Basically, Tekken 7 could very-well get cross-platform play, but it depends on Sony giving it the greenlight Unfortunately, Sony's non-committal responses leave that prospect in the grey zone.

Tekken 7 won’t be out until 2017 for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
