Skull & Bones | Launch Trailer

So, the Skull and Bones launch trailer has dropped, which means, as you've probably guessed, that the game is (finally) set to release in around ten days from now. The early trailer may be due to the fact that there is an Open Beta that will be playable, between February 8-11, for those who bought the Premium edition and subscribers of Ubisoft+. As most of you know, Skull and Bones is the pirate game that everybody has been waiting for that hadn't been made yet. The wait was certainly a long one as the game was delayed about five times since its original release date in 2018. Development originally began as an expansion to Assassin's Creed: Black Flag, but the scope shifted to fill the open-world, full scale pirate game that existed within the the gaming canon. While trailers can often be deceiving, I personally find this to be quite underwhelming. The story seems quite conventional and I don't really hit it off with the tone. I expect that game mechanics will likely be what this game is remembered for, other than it's eleven years of development and six years of delays, although I do expect the release to be something of a damp squib after all this time.
