I am aware this won't go the way I think it would but here it goes:

Only people with money, something to offer, or suck up to "higher ups" will get anywhere in life. Whether it's a job, or trying to make a living. I honestly feel like I could dedicate my entire life to "certain" activities or jobs and still be the same place I was 10 years ago. Idk what to do to improve this scenario but I just felt like ranting.

I know how you feel

I don't ever seem like I make enough money to do the real things I want to do in life

But if you work hard and focus on the real things you want in life they will come your way. Never give up on the dream.

And always look for a better paying job or work for yourself. Main thing is to be happy in life

I feel ya brother but money talks and is the root of all evil! Greed is something some humans sadly have!

I personally make decent money and I give my family from little that I have cause it's the right thing to do and cause I love them paper is paper at the end of the day. Love is forever if only other people on this Earth would see that! But yeah I feel you 100%

I understand that money doesn't buy happiness. I'm generally a happy person, no matter the situation I'm in.

However, having more money would allow me to not be as stressed and be able to buy/do things outside of paying bills. I'm currently looking into other opportunities for more money because there are plenty of them out there.

In regards to what OP said, it feels like every person that has recently got promoted at my company just has been sucking up since they started. I just refuse to be that type of person.

It means more to a person who works hard and earns that position

I just went thru this myself I worked my ass off for 6 yrs to work my way up to a manager's position. I kept that position for 2 yrs and finally desided to step down or leave the company. Due to I was feeling like a baby sitter to some of my employees and also feel I lost the respect of the position I was in. The money was decent. Yet just not worth the stress of dealing with suck asses. Such as people above me. They say go to school and get a better paying job. This maybe true. But if you can suck ass you get there just as fast lol Not the way I want to be at work. Cause I rather know the job and do the job correctly then to not know my job and worry when someone will realize I don't know the job.

Grass isn't always greener on the other side you have to look before you leap

As for now I stepped down and still with the company. But I feel it's my time to move on to something. Better or different where I can love doing what I do again I actually really liked my job as an employee and as a manager. But things are a lot different now that I stepped down.
