For some reason over the past few years im not having any fun with games at all, it feels like every game is just a clone of another game and they're also just overly competitive for no reason at all.

Either im just shit at a game or im too old for gaming in general im 23 now and im so lost for what to play im at the point of just game hopping every 30-40 minutes to try and enjoy it and i dont know what to play to enjoy myself anymore.

Understandable that games are never gonna be the same as they was 8-10 years ago, i remember coming home from school and hopping on cod for hours and i would never get bored of it now i play 1 cod game and i just wanna bash my head off a wall.

Its not even the fact im "not good" at a game as most games i can pick up easily and be decent or better than average at them but i just feel bored playing them.

Is it just me or am i lost for games now?

That's the thing now, I think we hit this "level" without realising in life that sub consciously we decide we've had enough of it. I've tried different games (FPS, RPG's, Platform games, etc) that I genuinely just think that out brains have ticked it off. Everything seems just... not the same and that's okay. It's just time we moved on or just play to chill rather than play to sweat. My advice, COD is the worst for it atm.

I know that I don't make sense often, my bad if that was hard to read.

I dont know if we are too old for games. im 25 and still have a great time playing games. Now I dont spend all day and night playing like I used to 10 years ago. Gaming has changed alot since then but I think I will always have fun on the game as long as I have friends to play with. Couple years ago I thought I was getting too old because I would hop on and play maybe 30 min and then hop off. But that has seem to change recently

Na I understand, for example with cod ive always been a grinder so i go for mastery camo on every cod it would take me like 2 weeks max and id have it done then quit the game as it would just drain the energy to play it.

When you play with friends its not too bad but most games are too overly competitive to just chill out on from what i see anyway

Every game seems to be repetitive, same'old or sweaty. I'd love for something that accommodates everything but it just won't happen.

DayZ is a prime example of it, i used to LOVE playing DayZ and playing stealthy picking people off but now you cant do that every server you join people are trying to become "movement" players and just maining a 50cal as a close range gun hipfiring, it defeats the whole purpose of the game for me bums me out

That why I try and play casual games unless its single player. I find having fun with out competitive sweats more enjoyable. Now if you would have talked to me 10 years ago I would have told you a different story haha

I use to be sweat back then, I cringe even thinking about it. When I play today its just to relax after working or catch up with friends while I pass the time. But I do enjoy single player games here and there like starfield for example. I am getting alot of enjoyment out of that right now. Huge fallout fan. The game isnt for everyone

I think it's just gaming overall that's changed. Before, publishers used to battle for game sales; now it's all about free-to-play and active users month over month. Games now all fight each other for player time, so the best way to keep players is to make the games grindy, and that is where the repetitive feel comes from. It's all slow levelling, season passes, battle passes, and in-game events. "Live service games" are hoping to sell you the fix for that repetitive grind.

No one is too old you just started gaming in a time where repetitiveness was not built into games to gain a microtransaction. (CoD4/Halo3 etc)

Even cod4 i started at like mw2/black ops 1 / halo reach days

Ive been looking at the new cod thats upcoming and seen that they are bringing back old maps which might bring back a bit of nostalgia, hopefully it doesnt disappoint like the most recent cods.

If anyone has game recommendations let me know as im just completely stuck for choice of games atm
