Hi Guys,

My friend is looking to get into a PC soon.

His budget is 800 but can go up to 1000 if required.

He currently plays on a 1080p 140hz monitor.

Budget is for PC build only no peripherals needed.

Doesn't care about looks either or RGB.

Will be using it to play mostly call of duty warzone and possibly apex.

In my opinion that's not really a decent budget for building an entire PC and it be well used for those games. I would assume most of that money would have to be put into your graphics card so your not running your graphics for those games at minimal quality. and that does not leave much left over for a decent processor or MB.

I would look more into the 1500 dollar range and not have to upgrade more later. I have a 3060 GTX with a AMD Ryzen 9 processor and a ROG Strix motherboard and a complete water cooled case and 1000w power supply, 32gb of ram and 6tb m.2 storage plus case. I have put about $2800 on my pc alone and have probably put about $400 into upgrading some small stuff.

But you can definitely go budget and still have quality you just may have to sacrifice other things to obtain that for the budget at hand.

I appreciate your reply but his budget is his budget can't shift he want to get into pc gaming.

He's coming from an xbox one so I'm sure ha can get a pc build for 800-1000 euro that will be better than what he is currently playing on.

I was just looking for suggestions of a full build in pc part picker etc.

That is entirely inaccurate. You absolutely do not need to spend $1500 on a system.

OP;
What is the currency? Is it GBP, or Euros? If Euros, what country will parts be purchased in? I've thrown together a quick list for roughly £800;
PCPartPicker Part List

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600 3.5 GHz 6-Core Processor (£116.50 @ Amazon UK)
Motherboard: Gigabyte B550 AORUS ELITE V2 ATX AM4 Motherboard (£115.00 @ Amazon UK)
Memory: Patriot Viper Steel 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3600 CL18 Memory (£35.50 @ Ebuyer)
Storage: Western Digital Black SN770 1 TB M.2-2280 PCIe 4.0 X4 NVME Solid State Drive (£41.99 @ Amazon UK)
Video Card: Sapphire PULSE Radeon RX 6700 XT 12 GB Video Card (£319.98 @ Scan.co.uk)
Case: Cooler Master MasterBox NR600 (w/o ODD) ATX Mid Tower Case (£69.98 @ Amazon UK)
Power Supply: SeaSonic G12 GM 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply (£84.35 @ Amazon UK)
Total: £783.30

This will be more than capable of comfortably playing games at 1080p144Hz. You won't be maxing out settings or anything, but you're not buying a high end system. There's a little room for changes to this system, if you don't like the case or want additional RAM/storage, or something.

Let me know the currency and country he's buying in. Would he rather be closer to 800, or is he happy to spend the full 1000? Does he have any sort of preferences, cases he likes or a specific amount of storage/RAM he'd like, etc?

Give me that info and I can give you a more personalised list for him, but what I've posted above is at least a good base to start from and maybe tweak as necessary.

Euros, but which country? Ireland, Germany, Poland?
Different components will have better/worse availability and pricing depending on location.

I personally think he is better of looking for a prebuilt second hand to get the most bang for his buck, Will get a way better pc second hand then buying new that's for sure. However like others said it all depends where he is based on what he can get for that money but stretching to the 1000 euro will defo be way more worth it.

Second hand could be a buying someone else's problem and he isn't the best with diagnostics if anything was wrong with it
