Plenty of games out there, Depends on what type of genre you're looking for

Lost ark is easy to get into, It's a MMORPG with a generous amount of classes to choose from, Pretty fun game but its one of those games you kind of have to wait for your friend to get on so you don't blow past him but if you play casually you'll both eventually end up at the same level and somewhat same gear regardless

Gunfire reborn, A rouge-lite with about 8 characters to choose from, You go through randomly generated rooms/biomes in hopes you get good gear and powerups for the later stages of the game, After death you get soul essence so you can upgrade your character to make future runs a bit easier but even at max level with all of the extra powerups its still a pretty difficult game depending on the difficulty you choose (and build path)

Risk of rain 2, Same concept as gunfire but a bit more open space and a lot more difficult, Probably my favorite out of the two

Realm of the Mad God, another MMORPG but this one is a bit more rough, There's about 18 classes to choose from and your goal is to "8/8" your character and go for the best gear possible. The catch, If you die your character is gone forever, But to save grace you have a vault that you can store gear for future characters. pretty fun game but can be ended short if you or your friend dies.

The borderlands series is a classic and i love going through 1 and 2

Overwatch is also free if that's your cup of tea

I Really wish the gaming industry would make more couch co-op games. The girlfriend and I are always looking for games to play together (her mostly) with little progress on finding anything good that's split screen / couch co-op. It Takes Two was probably one of our favorite games to play, even Borderlands series was decent; but really nothing else that's enjoyable or even co-op these days...

Xbox 360 had many co-op games. But nowadays, Xbox One and such, its rare to see them

My little rant, sorry. I dont play on PC much so i cant help on that end of the stick.

I found in my case, There were way too many couch co-op games when we were looking for online games. Me and a friend played through a few of co-op campaign/story games (It takes two, GoW 4/5, A way out, Halo, Borderlands) but there were quite a few we had to skip because it was local co-op only, Like Battletoads, Cuphead and enter the Gungeon to name a couple.

A fairly cheap, but beautifully artistic and relatively "quick" co op game is a game called Blanc

Depends what you and the Mrs like to play

I recommend Unravel 2.
I played it with my partner on the couch, but I'm sure it can be played online too.
