So i actually enjoy animes about crime. A lot actually. And this one was actually way different. Compared to most animes that I have seen, and I have over 100 days anime time watched on MAL (that I even remembered to log on there lol).
I was curious, for a couple of reasons. Are you guys fans of the genre of anime that, one way or another, is focused around a crime or crime in general? This anime is based around a male character, Angelo Lagusa, who takes on the name of Avilio Bruno. The reason he goes by this, as you learn in the opening scene, is his parents are killed by one of the mafia families that the anime is based around. I promise that im not spoiling anything! I thought they introduced a lot of characters, way too fast in some parts, but you eventually kind of just.. figure it out as it goes a long. Maybe that's just me though, but i did really enjoy the story. From beginning to end, it was a really solid series to watch. Now, because of how fast I can finish a series.. it only took me like a day or 2 to finish it. But I think they could have dragged it out just a little bit longer, or even made more seasons or something if they would have introduced more characters. I think that, it is actually kind of surprising, that there aren't more series about the mafia, and other criminal organizations, such as the Yakuza, which I am well aware, there are some here and there, but as much as violence/crime is glorified these days (which trust me, I am NOT trying to do lol), it is really surprising there isn't a LOT more. thoughts? also, was curious of maybe some other anime series you guys might have to recommend for me based around my thoughts/tastes in this post? thanks, i look forward to the replies <3 |
