Pretty much what it reads in the subject. is it worth upgrading my 3070 TI to a 3090 TI?

Simple answer, no.

Depending on your resolution and refresh rate, which I assume you're using it for gaming. The only case that you would see improvements is 4K, which if you are 4K gaming, you might as well try to get your hands on a 4090. I still game at 1080p, but the boost with the 3090ti wouldn't be noticeable compared with your 3070ti. Even with 1440p, the difference would be minute. Getting a 3090ti would be cool, but imo a worthless upgrade and I have a 3060. 3070Ti is significantly better than mine. You can get stable 60FPS @ 4K in RDR2 w/a 3070Ti and optimized settings. The upgrade is so unnecessary, that you would still play at 4K @ 60Hz unless you purchase a high refresh monitor which would be two quarters of a 3090Ti.

I would say that if your 3070Ti runs, keep that shit for as long as it does. It's so beyond ridiculous high end with the current titles that it makes zero sense unless you purchase it for the spite of being able to. If you need 4K and high refresh rate, sure shoot for the stars.

depends on your use case, gaming? Most games at 1440 and generally maxing out the settings would see a more stable framerate. Same with 4K. So no real benefit unless that is something you're after, i.e. high refresh rate 4K/2K monitors.

Productivity? I guess it would depend on what your workflow is. We can't really know without that information.

That's not entirely accurate. The 3090Ti is an easy 40% + faster than a 3070Ti @ 1440p. That means in cases where a 3070Ti has you running at 100FPS, a 3090Ti at the same settings would have you maxing out a 1440p144Hz monitor. There are plenty of games where the difference between a 3070Ti and 3090Ti at 1440p is running at 60ish FPS vs 100+, or where having the 3090Ti will take you beyond 150FPS when a 3070Ti would be performing in the low 100FPS range.

It does depend entirely on the game and settings, as well as what resolution you're using but the 3090Ti is absolutely noticeably better than a 3070Ti.
Whether or not it's worth it is another argument entirely. I'd likely argue that a 3090Ti is a bad purchase but it depends on the price OP is looking at paying, what monitor(s) they're using, and what exactly they use their PC for.

I shouldn't have said noticeable, but rather is the improvement worth it fiscally. I definitely would be the type of person to get a 3090Ti or 4090 for shits and giggles. It's definitely faster, but just be sure to have a high end monitor if you get it. If you're still gaming on a 60hz display you don't deserve that high end card...
