Hey I just joined and this is my first build and I was looking for some feedback on thermal paste and some strange heating.

I have the intel i9 10900k CPU and went with what I thought was the grain of rice method (idk I eat white rice). But I feel like I used too little. I was anxious during the build.

When using Premiere Pro my package temp on the CPU is between 50-60 when the ram is set to memory and I am playing the preview at full 1080. Same with rendering.

When I change the ram to performance, it is 50-60 most of the time, but sometimes, like if I run it while I am typing this post, it shoots up to 85.

It's 33 idle.

So, should I add more paste? How much more? And because it was recently applied, do I just add it, or do I need to clean it off first? Refer to image above.

Thank you so much.

edit: My cpu cooler is noctua NH D14.

Refer to This article. The CPU runs hot so no matter how much thermal paste you put on, it won't make a slightest bit of difference. That said, thermal paste isn't there to cool the CPU anyway but to fill in the gaps where the cooler meets the CPU heatspreader and you don't actually need a lot of paste for this to be effective. Your cooler is a good one and is clearly doing a good job. I'd ignore it till you start seeing 95*c+ and thermal throttling.
