Hey folks,

So I recently bought an ASUS TUF706IU with plans to use it for audio recording/editing and video editing as well but unfortunately ran into a slew of problems (unsuccessfully) trying to get my audio interface connected to this thing and recently finding out the quality of audio produced from this laptop is dismal. It's very bad, like potato quality bad. I'm sending the thing back asap but now I'm back in the market for a decent laptop.

I have a good machine back home so I'm just looking for something to be able to take on the go, to my studio to record or be able to edit some video while I'm out and about. I bought the the Asus because it has a decent amount of RAM, processor and GPU (AMD Ryzen 7 4800H Eight-Core, 1660Ti, 16gb RAM), but I don't intend to use the laptop for any gaming, despite the name. Does anybody have suggestions for a similar laptop within this price range, that has non-spud audio quality, and perhaps has a reputation for being a good audio production PC? Price up to $1,200, a good processor for recording audio, decent amount of RAM (probably 8gb minimum) and a decent GPU for video editing. 1Tb SSD is a plus and larger screen size for clarity in edits, but could probably do with a 15".

Any and all suggestion are welcome, many thanks in advance!
