(Let's try that again)

My first build. Wanted a bit of advice on choosing hardware. Thanks guys.

What is your budget and currency?

American dollars, $1500

What will you use the PC for?

PC gaming, web surfing, email.

Do you need a monitor? If not, what monitor(s) will you be using?

Yes. Will use a standard desktop monitor for non-gaming, and a wall-hung 4K HDTV for gaming. Not part of concerns or quetions.

Do you need a keyboard, mouse, or other peripherals?

No.

Do you need an operating system?

Yes, likely loaded onto USB from my understanding. Windows 10

Will you overclock?

NOT w/ a rookie build, sorry.

Anything else we should know?

Sure! I'm comfortable w/ the basic design concepts and hardware required for a decent gaming PC. Also pretty OK w/ assembly after a bit of research. HOWEVER, the concern is compatible hardware that won't be a pain for a rookie builder to get into the case properly.

logicalincrements.com/

QUESTION: Plan is to use Logical Increments for the hardware choices. Does anyone in the group have any better alternatives? Want to keep it simple as possible for the first one, and ensure the hardware fits, hence LI.

Thanks ! ! !

PCPartPicker Part List

Motherboard: Asus ROG STRIX B550-F GAMING ATX AM4 Motherboard ($174.99 @ Best Buy)

Add whatever capacity 7200RPM HDD you need/want.

Grab an R5 5600X when they're in stock for $300.

Case should be back in stock soon at $90-100. Otherwise, the white version is in stock, or there any plenty of good similarly priced alternatives.

Grab whatever RTX 3070 or RX 6800 you can get your hands on for $500-600.

Yeah, availability for Ryzen 5000 CPU's seems almost non-existant. Availability of RTX 3000 and RX 6000 GPU's is awful as well right now. Shame really.

Even last generation GPU's seem to not have much stock and Ryzen 3000 appears to be 'running out' or prices raised.

Right, I'm gonna hold out for that 8 core processor while I'm waiting for the video cards to be available.

Who knew?........gives me a bit of time to try to work on that Christmas gift for my friend and begin w/ a basic build. Better I think. #Practice
