So since the new mw has cross play is it possible that most of the new cods will be cross platform in the future and have pc mods Ik mw has a few mods on pc but I never seen anything too crazy like a mod menu or infections imagine that infections came out on the new mw LOL

BUT, that being said -- mistakes and oversight happen. Which is why we got the JTAG Era, so who really knows? Dev kits haven't even made it out of the hands of the devs yet so we really have no clue what an exploit could contain. We don't know what the infrastructure of the systems will be internally. We don't know what the software architecture will be based on. There's speculation, but until someone in the scene gets their hands on a XDK there's no way to tell.

Personally, I don't think we'll ever have TRUE console mods again. The exploits from here into the future will probably be a lot like what they do to use the dupe glitch in MW/BLOPS4, probably exploited through the game and not the actual detriment of the console. The exploits will remain private so the chosen few can continue to run the scene, and the methods aren't patched.

Youre crazy there's a price for everything. Exploits and console mods will be released after the devs make al the money they can from it they will release that's how it always goes.

I wish that were true, but simply, there will be so much money pouring in due to CoD continuing to take the cross-play approach. Exploits that are private could very well still be used for the next CoD, and with crossplay you'll be able to get a modded account and it will work on both Xbox's / PS systems. So those methods could stay private for the foreseeable future.
The reason the last gen of modding was so abundant, is because everything got leaked, everyone had a method or a console. The market was diluted. Everyone had to start doing it for free and hoping for donations. The big dogs recognized how big of a mistake that would be to let happen again, they're making money hand over fist and have essentially zero reason to ever leak their method while they can charge the prices they're charging.

They all will, the way they've set up their new multiplayer infrastructure is basically promoting crossplay. They want you to play with your friend half way across the world on a different console. The mods on PC are "private" exploits that you basically buy access to, ran through security and servers, backdoors, etc. You don't actually own the mod, there's no files that you own or can openly distribute. And that is the future of modding.
Also, don't really expect mod menus again like we had in the past. A lot of those commands have been abandoned as far as I've been told.

No because they will be useless. Here are a couple reasons explaining why console modding is dead.

1) Devkits are now tied to online. You can't use an Xbox One Dev Kit unless you have registered it online within a certain timeframe.

2) Devkits no longer have the same functionality as before. Mostly everything runs in a sandbox.

3) There are no exploits for x86-64 architecture. We will never get another cold-boot hack unless one is discovered.

4) Most exploits these days for any console are webkit exploits but require specific FW. Can't go online without updating, can't play recent games because of minimum FW and online requirements.

5) You will get banned from online almost immediately these days.

Edit:
6) Most games use dedicated servers so even if you could get online without getting banned the chances of being able to cheat like we used to in an online game seems pretty slim.

I dont know much about how the system of modding actually works but

I doubt modding will come back to console's and if so you'll just be banned right away.

I would like for it to but we saw how the xbox one and ps4 turned out.

I saw someone was mentioning cross play, that may be a solution to it, i.e modding on pc and then giving it to console etc

who knows tho

Anything is possible. Just the matter if someone puts the time and effort of doing it and if it can actually be done in the new series X. Wasn't able to be done on Xbox one so we will have to wait and see what's next

I still remember getting hyped and shit getting into XP lobbies, modding was such a different vibe back then.

Now whenever i try playing any old CoD's its literally filled with infector's who just make the online experience shit by running godmode.

rip
