What's up guys, so I'm kind of new to the whole upgrading my PC thing, but here it goes. So I was upgrading my RAM from an 8gb stick to a 16gb stick I took out the old one (power off pc all unplugged etc) than I inserted the new one (power off etc) now my PC boots up but there is no display on my monitor.

I have tried using the old RAM, but still the problem persists. I've been trying for hours to figure this out so any help is very appreciated!

Clear CMOS, and make sure your display cable is plugged in to the correct output on your PC, and input on your monitor. I'm guessing one of these will fix the issue, but if it's more serious, we'll absolutely need more information- your entire specs list at least.

Since I'm not well versed with PC parts and such, I took it to a local repair shop. They are currently testing each individual part as they deemed it a hardware failure. I will update once I know what failed.

alright, what I recommend future wise. Use two sticks of RAM. Like two 8GB sticks as opposed to one 16GB stick unless your adding two.

I only mentioned it because you said in the OP "I was upgrading my RAM from an 8gb stick to a 16gb stick I took out the old one". It's always better to have two separate ones. Always make sure they're the same type, speed etc. I would like to hear the evaluations of the repairs team.
