So as I continue to work my way back into the scene, I continue to stumble upon issues. I am trying to upgrade my RGH to larger HDD. I am trying to put the important files ie: Xexmenue, Aurora, Dashlaunch, and so on, onto the usb, swap the HDD and the move them to the new HDD. The problem is, every time the xbox loads/refreshes/starts/ or reads the usb, it resets the usb and does not read the files on it. The USB drive has a 16g capacity, but I only want to use it to move the necessary files over, totaling 500mb, maybe. Here is the list of methods I have tried:

    - Directly from PC to USB to New HDD: I formatted the usb to the xbox, brought the usb back to my computer and downloaded xexmenu and the others to the usb. I returned the USB to the xbox and it as soon as I plug it it, it resets or reformats and is unable to view the files I have on the usb. It shows data being taken up on the usb but does not show xexmenu in the demo folder. (I know it goes in content > 0000... so on).

    - Copy paste method: I formatted the usb to the xbox, and in Aurora, I copied all of the files I wanted to transfer to the new HDD and pasted them on the USB. I confirmed that it finished the transfer. I reloaded and showed the files there. I then removed the HDD, with the USB still in (and once with it out) inserted the new HDD and attempted to move xexmenu over so I could move the rest. As soon as I plugged in the usb or the new HDD, like before, the usb shows data taking space, but none of the files I placed are visible. I put the old HDD back in, returned to xexmenu, aurora, and FSD, all three show data taking space, but not showing the files.

-The final method I used was neighborhood transfer: I attempted this in several ways, I transferred the new files from my PC, to the USB where the belong, swapped HDD and nothing showed. I used neighborhood to copy from the used HDD to the USB and put the new HDD in, same issue. I want to be able to try to use neighborhood to put it on the new HDD, but as soon as you swap HDD, the RGH/Jtag becomes unavailable on neighborhood.

When I return the USB to the computer after plugging it into the xbox, it no longer shows the content folder and name.file, it shows a folder with a Arrow facing up and down as the name, and a couple blank unreadable files. I cannot delete, move, or open these files. I have tried looking for the content folder after plugging in the usb with no luck. It will even show the space taken up from the files I placed on there, but I cannot find them. And I promise it is formatted to FAT32.

Please help me, I am out of ideas. I am beginning to pull out my hair, and I was already balding .

Thank you

Well in order for neighborhood to work correctly the plugins must be correct so switching the HDD will make your console not able to transfer files via neighborhood have you tried using a different usb?

It is currently the only USB I have. I had one in the past that worked no problem. Neighborhood is not the problem here, it is getting the xbox to read the files.

To be honest I've never once had to format a USB drive to work on an rgh. For xex menu you need to use horizon to inject it into a profile or it can act funny sometimes. Once you have xex menu on the console it will read the USB even if it won't read from the stock dashboard storage settings.

Make a profile on your console, doesn't need to be live profile just an offline one. Then copy the profile to the USB and then load the profile up in horizon, right click on the profile and it should give you an option to inject a file. Then inject xexmenu and see if it will show on your console.

Also the Xbox dashboard will NOT read modded files on the USB, that's probably your issue. You need to use xex menu to get those files onto the console.

Xex menu is supposed to show as a demo game, and I stated the other files also dont show in FSD, Aurora, or xexmenu

Then throw that trash USB out and get a new one, simple. It's not a format issue at all.

Injecting the profile through horizon would be a good place to start as far as process of elimination goes, other than the obvious solution of buying a new USB drive which you probably should've tried first and foremost lol.

But if you say you can get it to show xex menu, Aurora, and freestyle dash then there is zero reason why it wouldn't show the other files unless you're looking for them from the dashboard.

Or you can always fork out the $7 for an SATA transfer cable that will plug your HDD into the PC directly. Or get an external drive. Or use more than one HDD. Either way it seems like less trouble than what you're doing right now.
