Hi all, hope your day is going great!

I decided to build my own custom rig. I want to get back into animation / video editing. I've had limited experience with builds (took a few apart, upgraded components etc) but feel confident I can navigate through it and end up with a solid build. I am buying parts as and when I get the funds.

So far I have purchased:

* Case: Phanteks Eclipse P400A D-RGB Gaming Case - White - £75
* Motherboard: Asus tuf gaming 570x Plus (WiFi) - £185
* Ram: Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4 3200 MHz C16 XMP 2.0 - £80
* Storage: Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1 TB NVMe M.2 Internal SSD - £178

Need to purchase:

* CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X Processor (8C/16T, 36MB Cache, 4.4 GHz Max Boost) - £285
* GPU: PowerColor AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT Red Devil 8GB GDDR6 HDMI/3xDP Video Card - £400
* PSU: 550w? 650w? £75-£125?

I shall get another fan or 2 to improve air flow and stick with the wraith CPU fan for now.

My mind and stomach is set on the Ryzen 7 3700x CPU.

The GPU looks like a beast, but I am open to ideas regarding GPU. Sales might affect my decision on this.

I'm a bit stumped on the PSU. Help please? Need a reliable brand, fully modular, ATX, around the £75 mark perhaps, but can invest extra if a more suitable one reveals itself to me.

Thanks for reading this. I am looking for any advice, suggestions, potential issues etc

Cheers
Alex

PCPartPicker Part List

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 3.6 GHz 8-Core Processor (£277.87 @ Aria PC)
Motherboard: Asus TUF GAMING X570-PLUS (WI-FI) ATX AM4 Motherboard (Purchased For £185.00)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 Memory (Purchased For £80.00)
Storage: Samsung 970 Evo Plus 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME Solid State Drive (Purchased For £178.00)
Video Card: Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2070 8 GB WINDFORCE 2X Video Card (£373.47 @ Ebuyer)
Case: Phanteks Eclipse P400A Digital ATX Mid Tower Case (Purchased For £75.00)
Power Supply: RIOTORO ENIGMA G2 650 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply (£59.99 @ CCL Computers)
Total: £1229.33

Decent price for an RTX 2070, but a 5700XT is about the same price and should perform a little better for the most part, so a 5700XT is a decent alternative. I'd be looking at these coolers;

I'd probably be leaning towards the Gigabyte cooler. If you want to save 20-30 quid, this will do the job;

Thank you very much. Yes I've been wondering if the extra cost of the Red Devil 5700xt is worth it. I'm going to keep my eyes open for those deals. I have time to wait. GeForce, sapphire look good.

Not sure on that psu though..

Cheers bud

kitguru.net/components/power-supp...-review/6/

The Riotoro Enigma 850W G2 power supply excelled in all our tests. Not a surprise considering it is basically a rebadged Seasonic Focus Plus Gold (FX) supply which we reviewed back in August this year. There is no question that it delivers high grade power for a demanding enthusiast system.

The build quality is top notch and we didn't see any evident traces of cost cutting exercises by Riotoro. Technically its just as capable as the official Seasonic FOCUS PLUS which earned our highest award. There are some capacitor changes, but the differences between Nichicon and Nippon Chemi Con are minimal - they are both high grade Japanese capacitor manufacturers. All are using 105C rated caps.
