Hi guys/girls,

Many thanks for the replies to my previous post re a build and I have taken it all on board and going to buy my parts around the black friday sale.

In the meantime my son has given me his gaming laptop to experience pc gaming over ps4 which I am enjoying so far. But could I ask advice on a couple of things?

When I play my game on the laptop with ps4 controller attached and a wired headset into controller then all works well.

However, when I extend my game on to my second display via hdmi the controller still works but I lose sound through the headset and it comes out my monitor sspeaker, not great if you want to chat. Is there a fix for this I am missing?

Also, I believe I have now got my second monitor set up correctly to display my game on the larger monitor but when I try to move my mouse to the left back to my laptop it will not go. However, if I shut my game down I can move mouse, open screens and everything perfectly between monitors.

Any advice would be greatly apprecitated as it would be good to have my discord open on laptop and play game on desktop monitor. If I got these two minor things sorted I would be delighted.

Thanks in advance and again thanks for the great advice on a build.

Scotty

Sounds like you're just running an HDMI cable from a PS4 to your laptop, and the laptop can't tell where the audio source main is. Fix should be as simple as editing your sound options to go to your headset.

Right click the sound icon at the bottom right of the start menu > Sound Settings > Select your headset > Select your headset mic.

Should work just fine then, if not then plug the headset into the laptop and then it should. You may need to install drivers to get it more functional or completely functional as is though depending on the brand. Getting that is as simple as a google search. "X headset drivers"
