My first gaming rig. I was stuck to a pretty tight budget and wanted some opinions. I will be adding a M.2 SSD in the near future

not a bad build! personally i would go for a evga psu, and 16gb hyperx 3000mhz ram and maybe go for a rx590 for a little extra cash

Looking at it i could afford that card. I haven't ordered it yet. but if i was to go for that card would it make a reasonable difference?

the difference between the two cards wont be insane but you will prob get about 10 more fps than the 580, also the 590 sapphire cards look really nice with the sapphire logo in rgb

amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07JQDKNX...&psc=1

Its a better card than the 580 by a tad although that model doesn't have any cool lights or aesthetics like the sapphire nitro+ variants

The RX 590 is just an overclocked RX 580, it's not worth that much more than a 580 really.

That XFX Fatboy for £185 is the best priced 590 you'll find, but it's too close to the price of a GTX 1660 to make sense IMO, just get a 1660 for £200 or an RX 580 for £160ish.

Oh, and don't get the MSI Armor cooler, they're not good on that generation and you can get a better cooler for less anyway;

Price for the RAM and PSU isn't listed, so could you tell us your maximum budget for the system?
Also, what monitor(s) will you be using?
What exactly is the intended use for the system?

Need to know the answer to these questions to be able to help with a parts list properly.

a 144hz monitor is recommended for high fps gameplay as 21 is stating. Also when buying your monitor or if you already have it try and stay away cheap hdmi cables because they will cap your new 144 hz monitor at 60-120hz, so its best to use display port cables, d-dvi in the main slot of your gpu, or expensive 144 hz hdmi cables that I have yet to mess with

and like I said the 590 is only a tad but better but you can make a pretty nice looking build with some of the rgb variants, as well as the nice 580s out there.
