Hi guys.
I'm a massive fan of 433, and currently using 433(2) in Ultimate Team, with the following squad - [Minimum post requirement for links] The problem is, I am very rarely getting any wins with it. I'm struggling massively in the Weekend League, and often just end up at Silver 2 or so. I'm not a bad FIFA player, but I'm not the greatest. The thing is, I just can't find a way to make this team work properly. I've changed my tactics & player instructions so many times over the past few months, trying to find a specific setup that would work well, although nothing seems to be working. I'm constantly coming up against formations which are considered 'META', such as 4231 Narrow and 41212(2). I did switch to 4231 Narrow and it worked okay, but it was just bugging me that I had to revert to using a formation that I don't really like, as opposed to using 433(2) which I much prefer. I've now switched back to 433(2), and would love to get some advice on how to set the team up properly in terms of tactics & player instructions, so that I can do at least a little bit better in the Weekend League. I should mention that I don't really cross much at all, and prefer to cut inside with my wingers to try and score, so I guess it'd be obvious that I should set my wingers to cut inside, although they tend to just hang around on the wing even with this instruction. Anyway, any help I can get with this would be massively appreciated. I asked the same question over on the EA FIFA forums, and just received a load of abuse from people telling me to "GIT GUD" or to uninstall the game because I suck, etc etc. I did look online for 433(2) guides for FIFA 19, although unfortunately there are hardly ANY guides for this specific formation from reputable Youtubers. | I didn't really enjoy the way 4231 played. I like to set my wingers to have proper winger instructions, such as cut inside, get in behind etc, but with 4231 narrow I was unable to do this as they play like wide CAMs instead. Plus I love using Kroos & Modric, so I wasn't able to use them in 4231. Regardless, I wasn't doing THAT much better with 4231, just 'slightly' better, but that could've just been the few games I played anyway. |

You can make it work but it's just not very effective, mainly because the 4-3-3 is based around crossing so by not using a tall striker and as you said yourself, not playing with crosses then it's going to be very difficult to score goals and win games.
It's like playing 3-5-2 and just lobbing through balls up the pitch instead of playing possession, you're gonna get caught on the counter-attack with 3 x 70 Pace CBs and conceade goals and wonder why the formation is so bad. It's because you're not playing to the strengths of the formation and are in turn not succeeding I'd recommend either playing 4-3-2-1, which would let you use all the players you're using at the moment and it's also really meta or just build a new team that's based around the crossing aspect of the 4-3-3 or lastly, changing the variation and giving 4-3-3 (4) or the 4-3-3 (5) a go I'd also consider changing Kroos, probably the worst FIFA card for the rating in the whole game, if you check his in-game stats you'll see he has stats such as 30 jumping, 68 marking, 67 pace etc. He essentially is slow, can't defend and has 60 strength so he's weak too. All he can do is pass which although it's good, isn't enough for a CM position that needs to be able to do everything. I'd recommend Kondogbia or even Wass instead. If you have enough coins for Varane to replace Godin, it also would also improve your team IMO. Up to you at the end of the day bro, good luck anyhow |
