so I've recently started playing runescape again,
My stats are poor and just need some advice really, I'm heading for 70 combat skills as soon as I can, started at sandcrabs,

However, I'd like to know where should I start with the others? I've got a almost maxed RS3 account but haven't played that in 2 years and want something different now, hence the reason I've started Oldschool Runecsape,

I'd like to know the following:

  • What quests should I do to start with?
  • What are the skills that are a must to get high first and why?

Just do all the f2p quests then work your way through quests likeFairy Tale I the grand tree and tree gnome village also farming can earn you lots of money same with slayer but basic combat skills are important. Training agility is boring but it can save tons of time questing in the long run by being able to use short cuts. Prayer is expensive to train but the benefits in boss battles are extremely important so that is another one

Also if you can stand it train up runecrafting as the money you can make will help you along your journey it's mad boring tho

Oh forgot also try to get monkey madness done with as it sucks but is useful you will need to train more tho

You helped a lot, the only problem I have is concentration haha! But I will end up doing all the FTP quests within the next week, I just want to try hit 50 CB skills first,

Agility is boring but I enjoyed it on RS3, so will probably Enjoy it on here too!,

I think where I will end up struggling is where should I start with other skills, should I just do the quests first, then train up on what skill requirements I'd need for said quest?

What quests should I do to start with?

If you're interested in bossing, raids, and other high PvM requirements then I'd suggest getting barrows gloves ASAP. Therefore, requiring 175 quest points. I recommend just looking at all the required quests for RFD and start doing those. You should also unlock fairy rings at some point which requires you to START fairytale 2.

What are the skills that are a must to get high first and why?

It all depends on your goals. I personally enjoy PvM so I maxed melee asap and trained slayer until I went insane. If you want to start getting your skills up evenly just quest.

Personally what I'm doing is doing some quests then training skills then more quests but it's really just what you feel like doing that's something I like about this game it doesn't force you to do anything so when I log on I can do whatever I want really so it's just finding out what you want to do but a good chunk of quest can level up stats really fast most right to 30ish so looking at leveling guides can help you choose what quests to do because say you want to train agility but can't be asked to go do training courses then you can do Recruitment Drive, The Tourist Trap (using experience on Agility two times) and The Grand Tree that bumps u from lvl 1 to 32 agility in 3 quests

Honestly, do what Jimbo said, But id just say finish it all and get the quest cape, the teleport to a fairy ring is so great when it comes to clue scrolls and just travelling in general. And while finishing all the quests you unlock some beast money makers (Vorkath/Demonic gorillas, Raids) for later down the road.

And its just nice to have everything unlocked for you at a fairly low level ( ive seen 90s running around with quest capes)


But if you're starting off, i say the first thing you should get done is 70 magic and 43 prayer and 40 defense. That's the perfect stats to run barrows with to get some starter cash.

And once you get the money from doing a couple hundred chests, you can put that towards upgrading your gear (occult necklace/Tome of fire/seers ring etc) and make the trips even faster. And if you finish the morytania hard diaries, you get double the runes from the chest, so every run usually comes up from 25-40k to 45k-60k, which adds up.

What i did was finish the diary, got 40 construction for a prayer altar in my house, and every run id just recharge my prayer, teleport to edgeville to bank and gear up and use a barrows tab to get right to the entrance. Took about 30 seconds to gear back up after a trip.

Diaries are so important and they are very good to go for if you need a goal.

Besides that diary, You could do kandarin hard for 15% more marks of grace, and it cuts the time in half for the camelot agility course, so you can get full graceful pretty fast there which is nice for later.

Fremennik hard, Noted adamant bars from avas at gwd (makes that task pretty tolerable early on)

Western provinces, Teleport to monkfish once per day (a pretty nice perk, if you get bored or burned out you can just go there at the end of the day and fish and watch a movie) And you get a private chin spot, so you won't have to fight the bots off.

Edit: id also like to add that finishing all the quests leaves open a ton of clue scroll steps so you don't have to drop your clue scrolls every time it tells you to go somewhere. Clue scrolls alone made me a decent chunk of cash.

I would start off doing as many quests as you can cause most of them give good rewards and unlocks other good places plus u learn more about the lore and areas of the game but so far you doing good keep training slayer def the best money in the game once you get higher slayer levels but keep up the good work
