The idea is to reproduce and then die, and then your offspring reproduce and then the whole cycle is carried on and the human race survives etc.

Earth is approx 4 billion years old and there's predictions that in another 4 billion years, the andromeda galaxy is going to collide with ours and then it's game over. That's if an asteroid or the sun haven't already obliterated us lmao
so your saying as long as i have a child I've fulfilled my lifes purpose?

It's the only thing everyone who lives have in common. It's not so much to be the best you can be, write your name in history etc. Everyone dies at one point, so for me that is the purpose.


Okay, death we all have in common but how is that a purpose? A purpose is really what are you here for, what can you bring to the table. That's why we're all unique.

In reality there's really no purpose, I mean what does it matter if we expand and find new planets or if we never leave Earth? Die out or survive? Really doesn't make a difference anyway no matter what happens

I don't think there's a purpose to life but you can find a purpose in life, or for life. So the answer is going to be extremely subjective to everyone. To me, the purpose is to keep reproducing so we don't all die out and explore other planets so we can eventually get some humans off Earth. That way if an asteroid hits Earth, we wont all be wiped out and die and can instead, rebuild on another planet

To do this, we need to keep the human race alive and expanding, that involves procreation and advancements in technology. Not everyone should procreate, otherwise we'll overpopulate which is kinda happening at the moment but enough people having children so that we don't all die out. That was basically the point I was trying to make

There is no meaning to life, unless you convince yourself there is. Anything could be the "meaning" of ones life.
Having kids, making a lot of money, or doing something that is remembered for generations to come, even dying as Jay said.
Although, nothing you do matters. No matter how good or bad you are, the world keeps moving.
