Okay so looking to upgrade my CPU, MOBO and ram next month as im starting to do a bit more streaming and notice my pc cant handle it too well anymore. My Current specs:

Ryzen CPU's are great for streaming, gaming, and their prices are great. I recommended the Ryzen 5 2600 because it has 6 cores and should be great for streaming and will handle any game. 16 GB of RAM should be good enough plus its DDR4 running at 3000 MHz which is way better than your current RAM. The mother board fits your new CPU socket type and should fit the Hyper 212 EVO.

Not necessarily. It looks like OP might not be running his current RAM at XMP. If he can run that DDR3 at 1600MHz instead of 1333MHz, then that 3000MHz DDR4 won't actually be significantly faster since the timings on DDR3 are better. If he can run his DDR3 @ 1866MHz CL9, that would actually technically be faster than the 3000MHz DDR4 @ CL15. So that alone isn't a good enough reason, but he would need to upgrade to DDR4 for Ryzen regardless.

OP - Without needing a new motherboard and RAM, you could swap out that 3570k for an i7-3770k. You can find them used for around 100 quid pretty easily these days, and you'd gain hyperthreading which is a nice upgrade. However, if you want more cores you will need to upgrade socket, at which point Ryzen is your best bet for sure.

You could swap the R7 1700 for an R5 2600 if you wanted to save 15 quid but I probably wouldn't bother. The R5 2600 will clock a little higher than the R7 1700 as well, but I'd take the 2 extra cores for such a small price difference. If you did want to save money though and dropped to the R5, you could also get away with a slightly cheaper mobo- the AsRock B450 Pro4. I wouldn't quite trust that motherboard with an R7 1700 though unless you're going to leave it at stock settings. If you can hold on to the i5 a little longer, Ryzen 3000 is coming mid-2019, and it's pretty much confirmed that 16 cores are coming to the mainstream so I'd think that would mean a price cut on 6 and 8 core SKU's over last gen. Also, it will undoubtedly have an increase in IPC and maybe clock speed which means better single core performance. Great thing about Ryzen though to be fair, is you can upgrade now with an R5 2600/R7 1700 and at any point in the future, if you want swap in a Ryzen 3000 CPU, like maybe one of the 12 or 16 core SKU's.

Thanks for the quick reply there both! i think ill take your advice and go for the parts you have already linked in to me and order them tomorrow! should see a decent enough upgrade on my pc with handling streaming and multiple tasks as such! one more question is i see the ryzen clocks in at 3GHz, but turbo is 3.7? i take it there will be an easy one button way to overclock it via mobo bios to this or am i being dense? thanks

3.7GHz is the single core boost clock of the R7 1700. So it will boost to 3.7GHz on a single core, but you'll only boost to like 3.2GHz on all 8 cores with the R7 1700.

I wouldn't bother with auto overclocking junk. You shouldn't have much trouble hitting 3.9GHz with any R7 1700 to be honest, so I'd just set the multiplier to 39 in the BIOS. You could honestly probably leave auto voltage on, but 1.3-1.35v or so is about what I'd expect for 3.9GHz on an R7 1700. Run the RAM on A-XMP Profile 2 as well and you're good to go.

so i just got these parts and i cant seem to fit my hyper 212 evo onto the motherboard? was i supposed to buy a mount for it to fit?

The R7 1700 should come with a stock cooler that you can use.

If you want to use the Hyper 212 EVO, then yes, you'll need to get an AM4 mounting bracket for it. The LGA bracket you've been using with it definitely won't work.

Should be able to overclock a bit, but you might want to get the AM4 mounting bracket for the 212 EVO if you're going to try push the R7 1700 as far as you can get it. Looks like something like this should work just fine though;
