I have a gaming rig I built myself (well, my friend built it and I watched because I didn't know what I was doing). I have some basic building knowledge, but not enough to build a whole PC.

I have never upgraded my PC before. I bought a 120GB SSD and a 1TB HDD to put in it at the beginning. I'm running out of storage on the SSD (7GB left, whoops.) and think it's maybe time for an upgrade.

I would buy a 240GB or a 480GB (depends on what deals I find).

On my SSD, I have Windows 10 installed on it, but nothing else like games etc

So, how easy would it be do upgrade my SSD? Is it simple to just transfer the data across, because the fact I need to transfer Windows across worries me.

And for actually installing it; simple or too complex for me?

Thanks

You don't have to remove your current SSD at all. Just leave your OS on there, and add an additional SSD?

I'd definitely aim for a 480-512GB SSD with the current market, they're stupidly cheap.
480GB Crucial BX500
480GB OCZ TR200
500GB Samsung 860 EVO

860 EVO will last you longer than the BX500 or TR200 and has 2 extra years Warranty, but any of those 3 would be a great choice. I'd just spend the extra 10-15 quid for the 860 EVO, but the BX500 and TR200 are incredibly well priced right now tbh and are solid if you're just looking for the best deal.
