Building a new PC and I'm stuck between
ASUS ROG Strix RTX 2070 £669.99 Or ASUS ROG Strix GTX 1070 x2 in SLI £320 each, total £640 Any suggestions would be really great. |

| 2070 without a doubt. SLI might as well be dead. It relies on Devs actually supporting the tech and this is just not the case for most games not to mention you'd have more issues in terms of actually playing the game with 2 cars and having odd issues. This isn't a guarantee and it might not happen to you but we always say get the single strongest card you can afford just because of the known issues with SLI. |

I wouldn't do either. There's the possibility that SLI GTX 1070s would out-perform an RTX 2070, depending on the specific titles you play, but there are other nuisances with SLI, some of which can get pretty annoying. Aside from that, you shouldn't be paying almost £700 for an RTX 2070. It's a sub £500 GPU. For £650-700, you're in RTX 2080 territory which will without a doubt perform better than SLI 1070s for around the same price.

Thank you for the reply's I have considered the 2080 but I am mostly wanting the ASUS ROG Strix Edition as I really like the looks of the card and the ASUS version of the 2080 is going for around 800+ which a little much for me
Is there much difference between the 2070 & 2080 that is worth the money? I am using 1080p (for now) I don't have a plan to when I'll be going 1440/4K I just want to get the PC built before I start looking for other monitors but I want to make sure the PC will be good enough for that ready for when I do upgrade. |

The RTX 2080 is quite significantly faster than the RTX 2070. It makes absolutely no sense to pay more for an RTX 2070 than an RTX 2080 would cost you.
If you're running a 1080p 60Hz monitor, I absolutely would not advise investing in a Turing GPU whatsoever. Just grab an RX 580, you can get them for like 160 quid; ebuyer.com/787051-sapphire-amd-ra...eid=206719 ebuyer.com/830281-sapphire-amd-ra...eid=206719 Maybe spend a little more for an 8GB variant and you'd probably be able to handle 1440p 60Hz fairly well with the 580, assuming you don't wait 3+ years to upgrade monitor lol. Could even grab a new 1440p monitor now if you wanted and run it with an RX 580. You'd be able to run 4k fine as well tbh, you'll just have to start turning a lot of settings down in more demanding games. 1440p 144Hz with an RX 580, you'd either settle for lower FPS or lower settings, same as 4k. Alternatively, if you're just looking to spend money, you could get one of the reasonably priced RTX 2070's and a 1440p 144Hz, or 4k monitor for just a little more than the Strix RTX 2070 would cost you. 32", 1440p, 60Hz, IPS 27", 1440p, 144Hz, VA, curved 27", 1440p, 144Hz, TN 32", 4k, 60Hz, IPS 27", 4k, 60Hz, IPS Super cheap 28", 4k, 60Hz, TN |
