good morning everyone. i just joine up so wanna say hello.
my main reason for joining is to find info on how to build my own pc from scratch.
i have built pc's in the past but that was 10/15 years ago, and a lot (well nearly everything) seems to have changed since then.
what advice would other members give me to start with.
basically, i want to build a pc that is good for gaming and everyday work. i wont really be playing very high end games that require mega fast components, but my theory is that if it can handle powerful games, then it shall be good for everything else too. im on a very strict budget( hopefully under £500 uk).
from what i can gather ssd is the way to go, but i am a little concerned about how long they will last before degrading too much. also water cooling is another feature i would like to explore( but on my budget probably cant afford right now).
also any advice on VR would be appreciated. just thinking that maybe i should make it VR ready as that seems to be the future.
sorry for the long speech, but thought it was best to lay all my cards out first.
THANKS in advance

Welcome to the site homie, I am not much into the pcmr but I know a few users that I'm sure would be more than willing to help and is certainly some PC nerds.

Honestly I would message any of these 4 guys. I'm sure there is more that can help but these guys I know for a fact know what they are talking about.

@Adam @Craig @r00t @13

Good luck with your build homie and I hope to see you around the community.

while i am here, can i ask for some advice please.
recently i came home from working away for a couple of months, and my wife said the pc was running very poorly.
well yes it was, it was running terribly slow, and it was running very warm also. she had placed it atop a table near a radiator. i moved it right away, and also checked it inside. it was very very dusty and warm.
i have done all the usual checs and resets etc. the only thing i have not done is try the hdd in another pc because i dont have one. i suspect the hdd, or more likely the chip is failing due to the heat and?or bad sectors. does anyone agree with me or am i completely off the mark. this is the reason i was thinking of liquid cooling
