As revealed earlier today, the Xbox One X has an RRP of $499. Analysts are cagey on whether the expensive, 4K-ready console will be enough to bring back Xbox One owners who have shoved the console in the cupboard, get Xbox 360 fans to make the generational leap, or lure anyone away from Sonys domination of the generation.

The Xbox One X runs on what is called the Scorpio Engine, which uses a custom SoC (system on chip) with an enhanced version of the Jaguar core CPU adopted by the Xbox One S. Almost every other aspect is beefed up too:

Processor: Eight custom x86 cores clocked at 2.3GHz
Graphics: 40 customised compute units at 1,172MHz
Cooling: Liquid cooled vapor chamber
RAM: 12GB DDR5
Memory bandwidth: 326GB/s
Hard drive: 1TB 2.5-inch drive
Optical drive: 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray player
That's powerful enough to run games at true 4K resolution (3840 x 2160) at up to 60fps.

Can someone explain liquid cooled cons? Like their life span, if something breaks the water would like destroy the console haha. I don't know much regarding liquid cooling

My Guess its kind like liquid cooling in a PC. Not 100% sure tho.

So is it possible for the liquid cooling to mess up? I'd take a guess and say if it did it would happen to a lot of the first generation on One X's.

It would surely need to be replaced at some point I refuse to believe this will be fine forever .

There's really not too many cons w/ this style of cooling. Liquid cooling is a lot safer then it use to be. It also is a lot more efficient then air cooling, allowing for higher clock speeds then air cooling would. Also the fluid used in these are non conductive, and i imagine that there has been hundreds of hours of testing of the vapor cooling on this

To everyone who has been wondering in question about vapor cooling, seems to be used more in laptops but here.

Agreed. Thought PC owners with liquid cooling had to replace it every so often or something. Maybe MS came up with more of a jelly like substance than liquid? Who knows lol
