I'm certainly excited for it, to have true 4K gaming on my favourite console will be worth picking up.

Very much like the look of this console also, extremely sleek in design.

One shall be buying.

Fibril wrote Can someone explain liquid cooled cons? Like their life span, if something breaks the water would like destroy the console haha. I don't know much regarding liquid cooling

From the graphics shown at E3 it looks almost identical to the heat pipes in a vapor chamber used to cool some GPUs and used in mid-end CPU coolers (like the ones Cooler Master, Noctua and be quiet! offer). If this is the case, they're closed heat pipes that dissipate heat through a metal heat sink and (in the case of the One X) will have the heat blown out the side of the case. This is much less risky as there are no fluids to leak onto the motherboard but of course anything can happen.

Even though liquid cooling is mentioned, that doesn't seem to be the case. As you can see here the One X uses a blower style cooler, very similar to the ones used on AMD and Nvidia reference design GPUs. These blow the hot air out the sides of the case which would make sense since the One X has exhaust grills on the back and sides.

Unless there's liquid in the heat pipe itself but there's no rad to cool the liquid -- It's more than likely gas similar to the CPU coolers used in gaming PCs.

On my old PC I had liquid cooling and you didn't have to replace it, it came with the liquid already inside, not sure how it works but it did lol

Okay, so first of all, I want to say that this console actually looks quite impressive. It looks like the first time in a long while that consoles will actually be competitive with similarly priced PCs. In fact, it looks to me like the One X will be comparable to a system with a Ryzen 3 CPU and an RX 470, which would set you back a little over $520, when Ryzen 3 finally releases.

On to the "liquid cooling" part. He said they're using a "liquid cooled vapor chamber", which is basically just an improved method of air cooling. I very much doubt it will be akin to AIO liquid cooling for PCs, due to the way he phrased it.

If it were something similar to an AIO liquid cooler, like a Corsair H55 or something, then there wouldn't really be an issue with it. Leaks are almost non existent with closed loop AIO's, and if a leak were to happen that wasn't due to user error, there would definitely be a warranty to have you covered. That said, AIO's get old, the liquid inside doesn't cool as well over time, and eventually the whole unit would have to be replaced so although it would be a perfectly fine option for cooling, it wouldn't last anywhere near as long as an air cooler.

Looking at the specs, it's more akin to a Pentium G4600 and an RX 580 8GB. A customized 580 though, it's clocked lower but there are 4 more CUs and the higher memory bandwidth that makes up for it.

I definitely wouldn't say it's more like a Pentium. Ryzen 3 with 4 cores would be a better comparison IMO since the Pentium is still only a dual core, and it's a really low budget chip. Though, a Pentium will offer similar performance, it just doesn't feel like a fair comparison IMO.

As for GPU side, yes, on paper it's more like an RX 480/580, but I have a pretty good feeling we'll see performance similar to that of an RX 470/570. If it manages close to RX 580 performance, that would be very impressive.

They're probably calling it liquid cooling to market it better, the cpu cooler uses a vapour chamber.
