These are all my thoughts on the universe put into the words of Neil Degrasse Tyson.

The human race has only explored less than 1% of the universe we live in, up to now. Since we've barely begun to understand less than 1% of it, there's no way the human race can say that it's an endless void; there are two obvious possibilities: either the universe is infinite or the universe is finite.

Personally, I enjoy all talks about the universe; I find the universe we inhabit to be quite interesting and, even though I have this interest, I'm sure I won't be alive by the time we can get past the 1% of the universe we barely understand.

One thing I can't understand is this: why are some people so preoccupied about being able to inhabit another planet, such as Mars, when they shoukd be preoccupied about the planet we live on now? I am all for space exploration, discoveries of new stars and planets; but, shouldn't the human race be more concentrated on making the planet we live on, which is slowly dying along with the human race, one that keeps on being inhabitable? There are some people so worried about terraforming on a new planet, about creating "a haven" on other planets or stars, that they've completely forgotten that RIGHT NOW we are trying to sustain ourselves on a dying planet.

I know this is a weird reference but in the series, Archer, there's an episode called 'Space Race' which is divided into two parts. It's all about this space commander's mission to train the main characters to parttake on a mission to regain control of a space station, which was "overrun". In the second part of that episode, they reach the base and what do you know? They were just being used by the space commander, to get the men up into the station to become "slaves" and the women to become "baby farms" or "baby machines". That's the lengths I can imagine one of these people who prioritize terraforming another planet instead of taking care of our own.

Again, I am all for space exploration and voyages into the universe's many mysteries. But sometimes I think people get too carried away and excited about space exploration when what should matter more is taking care of Planet Earth, the one we currently inhabit.

Pictures like that tend to scare me a little. It just shows how insignificant our planet is and how small we all are. Puts a different perspective on life.

What interests me is i love outer life, knowing there could be millions of species out there that hasn't been found.

Imagine if in the ocean there is like a 200ft shark swimming in the deeps of the ocean, it gives me a weird feeling and i love it. I could talk about this type of stuff for hours, might even make a thread on it!
