Liverpool vs Madrid this early in the comp is criminal but good to see.

Very happy with AC Milan should be a wicked couple of games.

I agree. After Liverpool - Real Madrid, I reckon Spurs - AC Milan will be the most exciting tie

@James - What do you reckon to Arsenal dropping out of the EFL cup so early?
You think it'll benefit the title push?
Or is that gonna crumble after the New Year and leave a great start to the season unlikely to result in any silverware?

I'm absolutely fine with arsenal not being in the EFL cup. I'm sure Dan feels the same way with spurs. It's a trophy no one really cares about and city will just win it anyway.

The next round of the EFL cup takes place like 3 days after the World Cup and right before the EPL starts back up. Rather not risk the players for this cup.

100%, if City decide to win it, they've won it.

Far too much at play with the WC, UCL, FA Cup, Carabao Cup etc. Rather we focused our efforts on progressing through the champions league and up the prem table.

Don't get me wrong getting knocked out of any comp is shit especially to the likes of forest this early but it's far from the end of our season.

It's a trophy the biggest boys don't care about until the semi finals, but I think most teams outside of the big six would LOVE to win it. It can bring a lot to teams of the lower divisions.

Personally I really enjoy the competition as I love to see our second string players strut their stuff. I don't think a single player who started the cup tie for Arsenal will actually be going to the WC.

Goalkeepers: Jordan Pickford (Everton), Nick Pope (Newcastle), Aaron Ramsdale (Arsenal)

Defenders: Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool), Conor Coady (Everton), Eric Dier (Spurs), Harry Maguire (Man Utd), John Stones (Man City), Luke Shaw (Man Utd), Kieran Trippier (Newcastle), Kyle Walker (Man City), Ben White (Arsenal)

Midfielders: Jude Bellingham (Borussia Dortmund), Conor Gallagher (Chelsea), Jordan Henderson (Liverpool), James Maddison (Leicester), Mason Mount (Chelsea), Kalvin Phillips (Man City), Declan Rice (West Ham)

Forwards: Phil Foden (Man City), Jack Grealish (Man City), Harry Kane (Spurs), Marcus Rashford (Man Utd), Bukayo Saka (Arsenal), Raheem Sterling (Man City), Callum Wilson (Newcastle)

Thoughts on the England WC squad?
I'm surprised to see that Abraham didn't make the cut. Not that he'd have gotten many minutes but still.

I'm also quite surprised to see Gallagher, Phillips and Maddison there. Such a stupid career move for Phillips, he's a very lucky boy...
Also Sancho moving to United didn't even have a sniff at the squad!

As a proud Welshmen, nothing makes me happier than Southgate not taking a League Winning CB in Tomori, A set piece specialist and veteran in JWP, and instead taking two players who've had about as many minutes this season as the Kitman. Imagine taking the 4th choice CB for United.

Sure they'll still do very well but some deffo questionable decisions.

And as a Spurs fan, ERIC DIER???? Surely last weeks game alone should be enough to leave him at home.

England will still top that group, 2nd will come down to whether bale carries the team. I'm still going with USA to come second but will be close.

Thereafter england won't reach any further than quarter finals imo. Getting a bit more excited about it now but it's annoying it's stopping club football. At least we get to change our fpl squads lol
