Arsenal suffer a major blow in their attempt to sign Julian Draxler, 20, with Schalke sporting director Horst Heldt insisting that the Bundesliga club have no intention of selling the midfielder.

Manchester City defender Joleon Lescott, 31, has turned down a chance to move to West Ham or Fulham, and will see out the remaining six months of contract at the Etihad Stadium.

Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko, 27, is ready to accept a pay cut to join Borussia Dortmund. The Bundesliga side want the Bosnian as a replacement for Robert Lewandowski, 25, who has signed a pre-contract agreement to join Bayern Munich in June.

Newcastle manager Alan Pardew is still "hopeful" of signing Lyon's Clement Grenier, 23, but admits time is running out to complete the deal. Lyon want 12m for the midfielder, but Newcastle have offered only 8m.

Bayern Munich boss Pep Guardiola has opened the door for Toni Kroos to join Manchester United. Asked about the 24-year-old Germany midfielder's potential move to Old Trafford, Guardiola said: "He is an important player but things can move fast in football. Here today, gone tomorrow."

That would be a great signing for the future, he's so young, promising and can be the long term replacement for JT. He's currently serving a 10 game ban for a tackle that broke somebodies leg and dislocated their foot.

Some reports are saying with already signed him for the summer in a pre contract agreement for around 12m (rumours I guess, I only believe sky sports).

If we do sign him, it will take time for him to settle in, he's only 19 years old, very young. But he will improve under Mourinho.

At 19 though he's had a lot of appearances for St Etienne when he's back he'll be starting regularly. Defiantly an exciting prospect for the future.

JUST IN: Chelsea are close to completing a 12m move for 19-year-old St Etienne defender Kurt Zouma.

Blues boss Jose Mourinho sees the France Under-20 international as one of the Europe's brightest young prospects.

But rather than ask Zouma to move to London immediately, Mourinho will loan Zouma back to the French club for the rest of the season.

St Etienne president Roland Romeyer had previously insisted the player would not move in the transfer window.

It's been a brilliant Jan transfer, we've signed key players and added more young stars into our squad, this guy is the next big thing. Would love us to buy a striker on deadline day however, give City a challenge for the league now.

Draxler would be a brilliant signing for Arsenal. Wenger doesn't want to pay up though.
