Hey guys, so I've bought this receiver online so I can use my 360 controller on Windows but for some reason I can't connect it, I've searched for a WHILE and no idea why, I did see that official ones have a button on top of the receiver but mine doesn't, it doesn't get better taking in mind that I don't have the disk that should come with it nor theres a sign on the pcb that there should be a button, so help me out here if you know how to make this thing work cus the alternative is a madcatz controller with stick drift, and that ain't fun for racing games.
I found that it was designed by "Zonky", model: "CVT-G38 V1.0"
Pic of the pcb for ref: [Minimum post requirement for links]

Tell me if you find something, I've been searching for weeks since I've got it QwQ

The receiver should definitely have a sync button otherwise you'll probably need another one. Without the sync button I'm pretty sure it can only connect using Bluetooth which basic xb360 controllers don't have. If you have a link to where you purchased it from or can find any info for the receiver that would help.

If it's an official Xbox 360 controller just pick up a cheap charging cable and use it wired. if it's aftermarket it may have a USB port to plug it in.

If you're in the US I have some genuine Microsoft wireless receivers laying around.

Eh, I can go over the whole driver installation process, but I don't think it's going to be of much use without a sync button.

If the driver installed itself properly, you should see something like this in "Device Manager"

If not, you will see a yellow strike/ a broken driver, usually named "unknown".

To fix:

Right click the "unknown" device
Click "Update Driver"
Browse my computer for drivers
Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer
"Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver" (Toward the bottom)
Select "Xbox 360 Controller for Windows"
Press Next
Ignore the "Update Driver Warning" Dialog.

If the driver doesn't have a yellow strike next to it, then it's installed properly and synched with your device. If it does have a yellow strike, you can try the 3rd driver option "Xbox 360 Wireless Receiver for Windows"

Welp, that covers the lack of having a driver install disc.

As for synching? good luck!

No seriously, best of luck!

I personally have an official Microsoft receiver, which I use for GTA V PC. With it I have no issues, then again, I have a sync button...

I stumbled back and figured I'd find something on Google about these "Zonky" Wireless Gaming Receivers. I can't even find a brand named "Zonky" let alone any results leading to a wireless receiver. I also searched the model number, found me some automatic transmission fluid, perhaps required to pair? lol. Where did you buy this receiver from?
